About

Amy started her second career as a student with NEGC, completing her Master’s degree after raising her children and owning her own yoga studio where she was a trauma informed yoga instructor and educator. During that time she also worked with wounded veterans, breast cancer survivors and MS/Parkinson’s patients to teach somatic tools to help with their healing and wellness. Upon graduating, Amy remained with NEGC due to a mutual respect and desire to continue a professional relationship. Amy is warm, compassionate, yet also able to assess and challenge unhelpful behaviors preventing the client from his/her best life.

Amy is passionate about working with individuals dealing with grief, loss, anxiety, trauma, and those seeking to enhance their self-worth and confidence. Her roots are in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, and somatic methods. However, Amy  centers her approach for each client on their specific needs, drawing from many evidence-based modalities to create a personalized treatment for each person’s mental, emotional, and spiritual growth and freedom.  Amy very much believes Elizabeth Kubler-Ross's words, "The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known defeat, known suffering, known struggle, known loss and have found their way out of those depths." Amy is currently obtaining her Level 1 Gottman method certification.

In both her personal and professional life, Amy understands the crucial role of effective communication in helping individuals and couples reconnect and thrive. It is with her experience and counseling education that clients benefit from her wisdom and expertise in sessions. Amy works with both individuals aged 16 and older and couples, both in person and/or virtually. Amy’s clients have expressed feeling like she is eager to understand them and genuine in her desire to find ways to help them improve their lives.

Along with enjoying quality time with her family and friends, Amy enjoys yoga & hiking, painting, reading, cooking and travel.
