Daniele is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Registered Play Therapist (RPT™) with over ten years of clinical counseling experience and more than fifteen years dedicated to working with children and families. In addition to her clinical practice, Daniele serves as an Assistant Professor of Psychology and the Fieldwork Coordinator at Brenau University in Gainesville, where she actively works with the university's Play Therapy Institute. She is also a proud member of the Georgia Association for Play Therapy and the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia.
Daniele specializes in working with children navigating emotional dysregulation, anxiety, depression, trauma, attachment needs, behavioral concerns, and parent-child conflict. Her practice is deeply rooted in Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), a proven, research-backed framework based on the understanding that play is a child’s natural language. Just as adults process their world through words, children process their thoughts, big emotions, and lived experiences through play.
In the playroom, Daniele provides a safe, non-judgmental space where children as young as two years old are allowed to lead the way through non-directive play. A core piece of Daniele's work is her close collaboration with parents. She walks alongside caregivers throughout the therapeutic process, offering regular feedback sessions to translate what emerges in the playroom into practical, compassionate support at home. This collaborative framework empowers children to build self-regulation, resilience, and lasting emotional health. Daniele also offers Filial Therapy, a unique form of family therapy where the therapist trains and supervises parents to become the primary agents of change in their children's lives. Through this model, parents learn to conduct specialized, child-centered play sessions that help resolve behavioral difficulties while strengthening the parent-child relationship and overall family climate.
For teens and young adults, Daniele offers a tailored, integrative approach designed to navigate the unique complexities of emerging adulthood. Recognizing that this stage of life requires both high-level coping strategies and deep self-discovery, she utilizes Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), elements of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness.Outside of her clinical and academic work, Daniele loves spending quality time with her husband, their sweet son and daughter, and their two very loved dogs. Whether they are cozying up on the couch for a movie night or embarking on a magical family trip to Disney World, she treasures the everyday joy and busyness of family life!
